Although many of President Trump's claims are now being proven as fact, big tech companies like Facebook don’t care much about facts when the Democrat White House gives them unlimited power. Even with Trump’s Lab Leak theory revelation, Facebook decided to not only uphold his suspension from the platform, but thanks to the Oversight Board - the ban will extend for two more years.
Making the announcement on Friday, Facebook said, “We are today announcing new enforcement protocols to be applied in exceptional cases such as this, and we are confirming the time-bound penalty consistent with those protocols which we are applying to Mr. Trump’s accounts. Given the gravity of the circumstances that led to Mr. Trump’s suspension, we believe his actions constituted a severe violation of our rules which merit the highest penalty available under the new enforcement protocols.”
But what exactly is Trump being banned for? Even Joe Biden has refrained from creating his own committee to investigate the Capitol Hill riot. Maybe because he, like other Democrats, played their own significant part in what led to that unfortunate day.
As for Trump, he released his own statement slamming Facebook and their decision to extend the suspension. “Facebook’s ruling is an insult to the record-setting 75M people, plus many others, who voted for us in the 2020 Rigged Presidential Election. They shouldn’t be allowed to get away with this censoring and silencing, and ultimately, we will win. Our Country can’t take this abuse anymore!”
For now, the slowly dying Facebook is standing by their decision and said they would reevaluate Trump in two years' time to make sure he wasn’t “a serious risk to public safety”. They also warned Trump that he would face “a strict set of rapidly escalating sanctions'' for not obeying their new rules.
But Facebook and other big tech companies are forgetting one thing, Trump has already invested time and resources in other media platforms. Just recently, the President’s personal blog was taken down due to his upcoming appearance on a new social platform. So, while Facebook continues to ban conservative figures - who really cares as users are deleting their app.
