The Armaspec Stealth Recoil Spring SRS GEN4 9mm is a self-contained multi-stage drop-in replacement for your standard buffer and spring in AR-9 and PCC platforms. The spring is engineered to never contact the inner wall of the buffer tube — silent operation, reduced felt recoil, and consistent spring tension through high round counts. One unit drops in where your buffer and spring used to be.

At 6.4oz equivalent weight the SRS-9 is the right mass for 9mm FRT builds, PCC active reset setups, and any 9mm platform where cycle control and consistency matter.

⚠ 9mm Bolt Carrier Note — Read Before Installing

For proper function of the SRS-9 in your 9mm rifle or pistol, the extra weight on the back of the 9mm bolt carrier must be removed prior to installation. It is held in with a spring pin and can be removed with a punch. This step is required — failure to remove it will prevent the SRS-9 from functioning correctly. Standard 9mm bolt carriers without this extra weight require no modification.

FRT & PCC Active Reset Builds

The SRS GEN4 9mm at 6.4oz equivalent weight provides the mass needed for reliable forced reset trigger and active reset function in 9mm AR-9 and PCC builds. The silent captured system maintains consistent spring tension through high-cyclic-rate fire, improving FRT reset timing consistency over long strings. Compatible with the Kabuto FRT Metal Ambi Selector in PCC configurations.

How It Works

The SRS is a multi-stage system — the spring rides on an internal rod and never contacts the buffer tube wall. The buffer mass stays under constant tension against the bolt carrier throughout the cycling stroke. The second stage activates at the rear of travel, reducing felt recoil impulse. The whole system drops in as one unit.

Installation

  1. 9mm bolt carrier prep — if your bolt carrier has an extra weight on the rear, remove it using a punch to drive out the spring pin before installing the SRS-9
  2. Insert the polymer bumper end (rear) toward the back of the buffer tube
  3. Insert the metal weight mass end toward the bolt carrier
  4. Function check — cycle the action to verify smooth operation

Can be installed with or without the buffer retainer. Most shooters run without for ease of maintenance.
