Grow one of the healthiest and most striking root vegetables with our Atomic Red Carrot seeds. These gorgeous, uniform carrots grow to about 8 inches long and boast a vibrant, reddish color that runs all the way through the core. This deep color is due to the high amounts of lycopene—a powerful antioxidant—in this variety. Cooking the Atomic Red Carrot not only enhances its striking color but also increases the bioavailability of its beneficial lycopene, making it a delicious and highly nutritious addition to your table.

🌱 Growing instructions

  • Sowing: Sow seeds outdoors in deeply worked, loose soil 3 weeks before the last expected spring frost, or when soil reaches 45°F.
  • Depth: Sow seeds 1/4 inch deep on a slightly raised mound (about 8 inches wide).
  • Care: Keep the soil consistently moist but not soggy. Ensure the soil surface above the seeds does not become hard as this may prevent the seeds from germinating.
  • Thinning: When seedlings reach 2 inches high, gently thin them to 2-4 inches apart, depending on your desired carrot size.
  • Harvest: Cover the tops of the carrots with soil as they emerge to keep them tender. Sow new crops every 3-6 weeks in cool climates for a continuous harvest.
