The Super Patriot | Colombia Micro Lot Specialty Coffee
Don Wade built his reputation in Alabama the same way you build anything worth keeping: obsessive attention to detail, no shortcuts, and a refusal to call something finished until it's actually right. His engine shop, Don's Dream Machines, became a go-to name in experimental aviation. His restoration work won Prestige Craftsman honors at Oshkosh. And when he and his brother Ron set out to design an entirely new aircraft, they spent two years in near-secrecy building something they called a top-secret project. The result was the Super Patriot — Patriot Aircraft USA's flagship backcountry STOL machine out of Bibb County, Alabama. An aircraft that competes at the highest levels, flies into terrain most planes won't touch, and fits its pilot like it was built for them personally. We named this coffee after it because the parallels are hard to ignore. The Super Patriot is a micro lot single-origin Colombia specialty coffee, 200 pounds sourced exclusively from the high-altitude Narino region, air-roasted in small batches in Rockwall, Texas by a 100% disabled veteran-owned roastery that treats every pound like it matters. Because with a micro lot this size, it does.
Flavor Profile: Peach, Mango, Caramel and Syrupy Sweetness
The Super Patriot aircraft doesn't make noise until it's airborne. Then it climbs at close to 1,000 feet per minute and makes everyone on the ground turn their head. This cup works the same way. Sun-ripened peach and mango lead the opening, followed by a rich, syrupy body and a long caramel finish that coats the palate like nothing else in your current rotation. With a specialty cupping score of 87.5, this Colombia light to medium roast builds a fruit-meets-sweetness experience that reminds you why traceable single-origin coffee exists in the first place. No bitterness. No burnt edges. No compromise. Add a splash of Legendary Pecan Bliss syrup for a pairing that turns a good morning into a great one.

About the Aircraft: Patriot Aircraft USA and the Super Patriot
The Super Patriot aircraft debuted at Sun 'N Fun 2022 in Lakeland, Florida — the same airshow where LACC has served coffee on the flight line. Don Wade unveiled it at the STOL demo in Paradise City and it stopped the crowd cold. AOPA described it as an aircraft that fits its pilot like a glove, with titanium landing gear, a custom 176-horsepower Lycoming IO-320 engine, a Garmin G3X avionics suite, and 100-foot takeoff rolls that make experienced pilots do a double-take. Don and Ron Wade built it from the ground up out of their Bibb County, Alabama facility after more than a decade of restoring and repairing aircraft at their family shop. Their first model was called The Recruit. Their flagship became The Super Patriot. Two American brothers, a backcountry machine built to exacting standards, and a philosophy that the details are what separate good from legendary. We recognize that philosophy. It's the same one we apply to every batch we roast.
Why Narino, Colombia Produces World-Class Specialty Coffee
Narino sits in the southwestern corner of Colombia, bordering Ecuador, where extreme elevation and a tight microclimate create growing conditions that produce some of the most complex specialty coffee in the world. At 1,900 to 2,300 meters — terrain a Super Patriot could reach in minutes — the slow development of the coffee cherry concentrates natural sugars and builds the layered sweetness that makes this cup so distinctive. The Castillo, Tabi, and Bourbon varietals each bring their own character, and together, under the hands of dedicated Colombian farmers, they produce a cup that punches well above its weight. Wade said of his aircraft: it competes at the highest levels without sacrificing comfort. That's the same standard this coffee was sourced to meet.
Why Air-Roasting Protects a Micro Lot This Rare
A lot this size deserves a roast process that protects every note it took months to develop on the farm. Drum roasting risks scorching the delicate peach and mango characteristics that define this Narino coffee. We air-roast every batch on the Loring S35 Kestrel — beans suspended in a precise vortex of clean, hot air — locking in the fruit-forward sweetness and caramel depth without a trace of bitterness or burnt aftertaste. Don Wade spent two years refining every detail of the Super Patriot before he was satisfied enough to show it to anyone. We approach a micro lot the same way. When you only have 200 pounds to work with, you don't leave anything to chance.
A Rare Find for Pilots, Veterans and Specialty Coffee Lovers
The Super Patriot aircraft first turned heads at Sun 'N Fun, then earned coverage from AOPA, Aero-News Network, and Plane and Pilot. Not because of a marketing push, but because it was genuinely that good. That's the energy this coffee carries. No grocery store Colombia. No blended filler. Just a rare, traceable micro lot from one of the most celebrated growing regions on the planet, roasted by people who treat small-batch work as a standard, not a selling point. Whether you're shopping for a pilot, a veteran, or a specialty coffee lover who knows the difference between top-1% and everything else — this one's cleared for takeoff.
