Federal Government Power Grab Will Make States Defenseless

We are living in a time that couldn’t have been fathomed even five years ago. We’re on a freight train, picking up speed by the minute, and the brakes are failing. For those of us who are truly awake, we see what is actually happening. Ironically, the “woke” are sleeping right through it and have no idea the level of precariousness of this time in our history. Headlines are getting worse by the minute, with the severity increasing exponentially. Case in point: the Biden Administration is now trying to remove states' individual authority from state governors’ control and give that authority to the federal government.

Will We Become Sitting Ducks?

Journalist Wendy Patterson (@wendyp4545) truly has her finger on the pulse of what is happening and fearlessly shares all of her vital information on “X.” Wendy recently posted this alert:

Patterson continues to explain that they are purposely making us defenseless in the event of a homeland attack and that this consolidation of power from the federal government includes removing the National Guard Command away from governors and into the hands of the Executive Branch. In other words, Joe Biden will be able to give his @DeptofDefense Secretaries unilateral authority to dismantle State National Guard Units on a whim.

A concerned patriot with the handle Toxic Masculinity (@jskst29) commented his concern that -

“This is proof 2024 will be highly rigged and the corrupt regime will do something very drastic once people take to the streets demanding he (Biden) step down. Civil war 2.0...”

This is just one concern of many and has been echoed significantly. However, it is entirely plausible when you reflect on the countless extreme positions and rulings in the last few years since Biden has been in power.

It’s Called Legislative Proposal 480

Legislative Proposal 480, also known as LP 480, is a proposal presented to the Senate Armed Services Committee by the Department of Defense. The proposal aims to transfer Air National Guard units conducting space operations from the Air National Guard to the United States Space Force without the consent of the governors whose states and territories would be impacted.

LP 480 would literally dismantle the very foundation and purpose for creating the National Guard—which was to have a force ready to respond to the needs of their state and country. Authority was placed in the hands of each state's individual governors, who bear the responsibility to protect the safety of their citizens by maintaining the readiness and deployability of their National Guard units. Governors have a responsibility to those men and women who voluntarily join the National Guard branch and state of their choosing. LP 480 undermines the choice made by these men and women.

Is Anyone Pushing Back?

Governor Greg Abbott of Texas is. In a letter dated May 3, 2024, Governor Abbott states the following:

“…Legislative Proposal 480 would set a dangerous precedent. Members of the Texas National Guard must always stand ready to respond to natural disasters, civil disturbances, and cartel activity that threaten our way of life.   The U.S. Department of the Air Force should retract Legislative Proposal 480. Instead of attempting such a power grab in Congress, the U.S. Department of the Air Force should work with the affected governors to build up the Space Force in a way that is consistent with federal law.”

Governor Abbott is not alone. The National Governors Association wrote to the Department of Defense, requesting the immediate suspension of LP 480 and emphasizing the critical role of the National Guard in state and territorial crisis responses. It argues that the proposal undermines their authority as commanders-in-chief over the National Guard, potentially compromising national security and military readiness. The governors of all 50 states believe that any legislation that weakens their authority over the National Guard would set a dangerous precedent and jeopardize the long-standing partnerships and relationships between the states and the federal government.

Other Potential Implications of LP 480

In addition to the overtly obvious dangers of LP 480, there are several other issues that could be associated with this proposal. The disregard for gubernatorial authorities may lead to a lack of coordination and cooperation between state and federal authorities, potentially compromising national security and military readiness. This could result in delays or inefficiencies in deploying National Guard units, which could have severe consequences in times of crisis. It could also set a precedent for future federal overreach into state matters, potentially eroding the delicate balance of power between the two levels of government. This would inexorably lead to a breakdown in trust and cooperation between state and federal authorities, making it more challenging to address complex issues that require joint efforts.

But maybe that’s the whole point—the endgame they are trying to achieve. Create more chaos as we get closer to the election. Possibly, generating complete anarchy so that the election has to be cancelled, OR setting up the next president with such a mess to clean up that he will never be able to make any real changes in undoing all the damage they have created. One thing is for sure: this administration is pushing the most extreme, leftist agenda ever in the history of our nation. If you are awake, you must take action—no more sitting on the sidelines, or it will be too late.

What Can We Do to Fight Back?

Patriots can take several steps to fight Legislative Proposal 480:

  • Reach out to your elected representatives in Congress and express your opposition to LP 480. Share your concerns and reasons for opposing the proposal, and ask your representatives to vote against it. Here's a link to find all their contacts: https://www.congress.gov
  • Sign petitions started by organizations or individuals opposing LP 480. This can help demonstrate the level of public opposition to the proposal and put pressure on representatives to reconsider their stance.
  • Attend public hearings and town hall meetings where LP 480 is being discussed. Provide testimony and share your concerns with lawmakers and other stakeholders.
  •  Join organizations that are actively opposing LP 480, such as the Council of Governors, and participate in their efforts to raise awareness and build opposition to the proposal.
  • Learn more about LP 480 and its potential impacts on the National Guard and state authorities. This can help citizens make informed decisions and effectively communicate their concerns to representatives.

Above all, pray. According to the Bible, the power of prayer is, quite simply, the power of God, who hears and answers prayer. In Matthew 17:20 Jesus said to his Apostles, "Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”
