Presidential Debate or American Spectacle
Did you watch? According to a June 27 Ipsos/Syracuse University poll, 61% of Americans were likely to watch the debate between President Biden and former President Trump. The breakdown of that prediction was 75% of Republicans, 60% of Democrats, and 58% of independents. The final number isn’t in yet, but it’s likely to surpass the highest-watched presidential debate of all time—the 2016 Donald Trump vs. Hilary Clinton debate, which had 84 million viewers.
If you watched, you know this debate hosted by CNN was something our founding fathers never had on their bingo cards. There were so many anomalies wrapped into this event that even more recent political figures never saw this coming. Just look at these facts:
- It’s the first time a sitting president has debated a former president.
- These are the oldest candidates in history (Biden is 81 and Trump is 78).
- Timing of the debate: this was the earliest first presidential debate. Most presidential debates occur in September AFTER the Republican and Democratic Conventions.
- First time candidates were muted when the other candidate spoke.
Key Issues of the Left
There were definitely some other surprises along the way. The Trump-hating moderators (Jake Tapper and Dana Bash) were pretty fair. Of course, we knew there would be questions about Trump’s lawfare trials, January 6th and the age-old question of “will you accept the outcome of the vote?” to try and ensnare Trump into promising not to doubt results or investigate cheating.
And of course, they had to throw in a climate change question to see if Trump would bow down to the globalist gods, which he skillfully responded to by pointing out his environmental accomplishments while at the same time reinforcing what a scam the Paris Climate Agreement was and why he exited the money-grabbing program for elites.
Roe v. Wade
Lastly, a question on the Left’s number one issue they so love to espouse on, reproductive rights (AKA abortion) and Roe v. Wade. Trump, very wisely, brought up the horrendous scenario illustrated by the leftist governor of Virginia, Ralph Northam, in 2019. Here is what he said about late-term abortion, even after birth:
“So, in this particular example, if a mother is in labor, I can tell you exactly what would happen: the infant would be delivered. The infant would be kept comfortable. The infant would be resuscitated if that’s what the mother and the family desired, and then a discussion would ensue between the physicians and the mother.”
Who on God’s green earth would be for such an evil act? Even ultra-liberals should find this unacceptable. Shining light on this extreme viewpoint really demonstrates the depravity of how far left the Democrats have gone. And Joe’s response?
“I supported Roe v. Wade, which had three trimesters. First time is between a woman and a doctor. Second time is between a doctor and an extreme situation. A third time is between the doctor, I mean, between the woman and the state.”
Clearly, Joe’s handlers didn’t train him enough on this issue. But, hopefully, Trump awakened some folks to see the actual unhuman character of the Biden Administration, the antithetical character of a President who actually loves humanity and is willing to make sacrifices to save our country. Remember—Trump didn’t have to do this. He willingly took on the leadership reigns, knowing the Left would do everything to stop him.
Who Won the Debate?
Well, when it comes to the individual candidates, anyone with half a brain can see Trump was the victor. And even though CNN did their darnedest to ensure Biden had every advantage, he is obviously so far gone that their little tactics couldn’t make a difference. They couldn’t hide the blank stares, mumbles, completely nonsensical statements, flagrant lies and inappropriate responses from a guy who has dementia. This debate was also a win for debunking the ridiculous narrative of the “cheapfake” videos that the White House has been labeling actual footage of Joe stumbling and freezing up. Everyone saw Joe’s cognitive issues in real time on CNN—the gig us up! (By the way, CNN—how about a U.S. Flag in the background next time?)
What’s Next for the Democrats?
Of course, this is the million-dollar question. The pundits were in full volume from the minute the debate ended, and still buzzing at breakneck speed. Many theories are surfacing, including one that is particularly horrifying. That is, that the Obama and Clinton machine knew Joe would fail, so that they can replace him with another candidate. We’re hearing Gavin Newsome, Gretchen Whitmer and most notably, Hilary Clinton herself!
Of course, this theory would pose many challenges, namely, how do they side-step Vice President Kamala Harris? A black woman? What might they have up their sneaky little sleeves?
Conversely, there are many Democrats still standing with Joe thinking that the debate was just a little “performative” problem, but nothing that carries any real weight when it comes to the election.
Trump is the Man
Whatever the Democrats try and manipulate, the polls show that Trump is ahead. They are in quite a conundrum and may not be able to “fix” at the election this time (wink, wink). Trump is currently winning. Even the New York Times shows how he’s polling nationally and in key swing states (Note: this does not include the impact of the debate, which should likely increase Trump’s standings since most people polled stated that Trump won the debate.)
It will be very interesting to watch what happens next. As hyperbolic as this may sound, the 2024 presidential race will be the most important election in our entire history. There is so much on the line as the leftist elites are trying to push forth their Marxist agenda with “The Great Reset.” If we lose our freedom, it will take future generations to get it back if even possible.
This won’t happen on Trump’s watch. President Trump just needs to keep being President Trump for the win!
