An international watch company, Egard Watches, is daring to be different by defending police and calling for others to “speak truth” in an ad released recently in the wake of the recent calls from many the Left to defund police.
Egard Watches shared the video to YouTube along with the following message from CEO Ilan Srulovicz.
'My name is Ilan Srulovicz. the CEO of Egard.
At a time when we should be humanizing each other... we are vilifying each other. At a time when we should be unified with each other... we are segregating each other. Our great country is at a time of crisis and yet we are frozen with fear to even express ourselves.
The killing of George Floyd shook me to my core. It was unbelievably hard to watch and I truly believe in changes to police training and accountability but the movements currently at play are not helping this happen and I decided to put my company behind this message despite the risk involved.
How did we get to the point where we are too scared to say that a world without police is not a better world. We are too scared to say that violence is not the answer. We are too scared to say that we can all work together to create a world that celebrates our differences instead of hating each other over them.
It's time to stop living in fear of expressing your views. Our country is built on the premise of diversity of thought, ideas and debate. Please share this video and please #speaktruth
Egard’s ad dares to have a much different message from all of the recent police bashing.
The video, titled “Speak truth – A message that needs to be heard,” is only about two minutes long and features Ilan Srulovicz's voice. Here is what the video says:
'This world is so imperfect. It’s full of pain, and fear. Despite all of the chaos, all the judgement, we know that so many of you are good. We forget how human we are, how human we all are, including you. And that among all the sacrifice, mistakes can be made, and bad people do exist. We know that a world without you would not be better, but far, far worse, and for that we thank you. We know how much of your sacrifice goes unnoticed, and we know that the worst of you get the spotlight instead of the best. So many of you have given your lives to protect ours, to keep us safe. We will not stand by and let your work go unnoticed. We will speak truth.'
The video then ends with two slides saying 'Over 60 million Americans have police interactions per year, many of which result in lives being saved. #speaktruth.'
Being bold is nothing new for Egard, they are the company that made headlines in 2019 for a similarly video titled, 'What is a man? A response to Gillette.', which responded to Gillette's 'toxic masculinity' ad.
I hope more companies follow suit and publicly defend our brave law enforcement men and women of ALL RACES and let them know WE are the majority and they still have our support.
